About Sly

Sly is a Montreal-based writer with Swiss dual citizenship. He wrote the feature film Captain (2026) and wrote and directed the podcast First Pick: A Hockey Story (2021) with CBC/Radio-Canada, about athletes lost in pro sports. He was a script consultant on Game of Death (SXSW world premiere, 2017) and co-founded SPASM, a genre film festival where he executive produced the feature Le Chalet (2005) and distributed 100+ shorts across Canada.

 

He has published two novels, Yupster (2010) and Sara(h)bande (2013), and worked at Teletoon Canada, overseeing content for FOX, Marvel, Disney, Lucasfilm, and DC.

 

He was a finalist in the Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition with his Canadian-Korean script My Secret Garden, and is now developing the Indigenous feature I Wish I Had Been Born a Flower along with multiple spec scripts, including The Path Is Without Edge with Chinese writer-director Jingwei Li.
